Welcome to our website, Entertainment of the 1920’s. The 1920’s was an extraordinary time for Canadians; new things were emerging after World War One, things that changed the way we live today. Many things were invented in this time for entertainment of civilians; things like dances, the radio, talking films and music. The 1920’s are often referred to as “The Jazz Age” The Roaring Twenties” or “The Golden Twenties.” During this time the radio was a newest hottest invention that many people listened to; it connected the people in the rural areas to the city with information, and was used for communication as well. Talking films were another new form of entertainment, before they had silent films but when this time period hit the new thing was talking films. Many dances also emerged from this time period, dances like the Charleston, The Shimmy, and The Bunny Hop.
